I’m here to take away all of your confusion around exercise and diet. What to do, when and how to do it – that’s for me to put together for you. All you have to do is commit to training with me twice a week, and following the diet guidelines that I give you. I understand that you’re tired at the end of the week. I understand that you’ve got commitments, family, friends, work and that sticking to a diet and getting some exercise doesn’t always sound like fun. I’ve been there too. I had a city job for 15 years that had left me unfit, out of shape, stressed and, frankly, exhausted.
I’m here to help – all of those questions about the best way to start, how to work around an injury you have, what to do if you’re pregnant (or had your kids) – that’s what I’m here for.
I do not shout or bully clients into performing – I’m not that type of personal trainer, but don’t let that fool you into believing that you can slack off on my watch! I work with you, building a relationship that means that I know and understand exactly how far you can push yourself, and at what point you will need me to push you that little bit further. I strongly believe in working together as a team to achieve your goals.
All of our workouts aim to get you “functionally” fit. We all live in the real world, and we need our bodies to be able to cope with the demands of our everyday life. Being strong enough to carry your shopping home, athletic enough to play football with your children in the garden, fit enough to sprint after your toddler who is wandering off. These are the changes that I can make to your life, enabling you to live your life healthier and fitter.
I bring all equipment with me. Whether we are doing a home workout, or training outdoors I have varied equipment that I use. If we are working out at home we don’t need a large space in your house, just a clear area that we can use. Outdoors we also use our environment, so park benches on Hampstead Heath, steps on Highbury Fields, trees in Highgate Woods and the hill on Primrose Hill are often pushed into service during our outdoor workouts. Your workouts are always varied and fun, time flies past as you work up a sweat and increase your endorphins, those happy, feel good hormones that create positive energy, a skip in your step and put a smile on your face.
