If you joined a gym at the start of the year in a fit of enthusiasm – are you still going? If you are, then I’m impressed! But are you doing the right exercises, in the right way that will actually get you the results that you want?
Too many people either make up a gym routine based on articles they have read in magazines, or simply use the generic starter programme given to them on their gym induction by the bored 17 year old at the desk at reception!
If you are guilty of reading a magazine whilst on the exercise bike, never get out of breath or sweaty, only ever use the 2kilo weights and avoid the free weights area completely, then firstly you are certainly not alone – but more importantly you could be wasting your time and money by not using the gym properly.
Why not invest in a session with a personal trainer, and get them to show you how to use all the bits of kit at the gym that you don’t know how to use? It’ll save you time and wasted effort, and actually help you get the results that you need.
